Preventing a Future Water Catastrophe

Water is, and will increasingly be, a scarce resource which requires stewardship into the future. To ensure water security for the next generation Connecticut needs to develop utility scale desalination.

Plan and Save Now For Future Water Security

  • Connecticut needs to develop and incorporate desalination into its energy plan going forward.

    • Our district has been in severe drought all summer, droughts are a natural cyclical part of the water cycle but our demands for water do not change drastically over time

    • Desalination is an energy intensive process but is one of the few ways, other than drilling, that clean water can be obtained

  • Utility scale desalination has a host of it's own problems beyond energy consumption, including waste, that need to be addressed now to avoid near term problems with access to this vital resource
