Plan and Save Now For Future Water Security

Connecticut needs to develop and incorporate desalination into its energy plan going forward.
- Our district has been in severe drought all summer, droughts are a natural cyclical part of the water cycle but our demands for water do not change drastically over time
- Desalination is an energy intensive process but is one of the few ways, other than drilling, that clean water can be obtained
Utility scale desalination has a host of it's own problems beyond energy consumption, including waste, that need to be addressed now to avoid near term problems with access to this vital resource
